How To Make Everyday Feel Like FriYAY
Today is Friday and no doubt we’ll all be putting up FriYAY posts (myself included) but does our living with the weekend have a negative effect on us? By living only for the weekend it means that we spend most of the week in countdown mode, day dreaming about any plans that we have for the weekend. But the reality is, the weekend only two days and so we need to find a way to make those other four days count. So we’ve created a list of some of the things that we have incorporated into our week to make each day have a little bit of that Friday magic.
Make the most of your weekday evenings
Rather than cramming all your fun into the weekend, why not try to split up some of those fun evenings out into the week? Going out during the week has some added benefits too, like being less busy and often being able to make the most happy hour or special deals!
2. Create a to do list
This has been one of the key things that we’ve integrated into our weeks to give us a feeling of satisfaction at the end of each day. By doing this, not only do you end up having a super productive week but it actually makes the week fly by too!
3. Take breaks!
At work a lot of us feel the pressure to always be at our desk and present but it’s not healthy in the long term. Make the most of your lunch break and step outside the office to get a breath of fresh air. Whether that means meeting a friend for lunch or simply taking a walk. For many of us where the weather has taken a turn and we have begun to feel the winter chill, how about grabbing a coffee in a local cafe and reading a book.
4. Start a passion project
Life can’t all be about work, you time is important too (even if you are in a job you love!). We all need an outlet sometimes. Luckily, we have you guys! Providing updates, writing posts and interviewing some amazing people along the way is something that I really look forward to sharing with you. Whilst, it can be tiring and sometimes we feel like just snuggling up in bed after a long day, try to find a way to squeeze in something that you are passionate about into your evening. Not only will it make you feel better in the long term but it will give you something to look forward to during the week.
5. Take the leap and make a change!
If you really dread Mondays and are miserable at work then maybe its time for a change. If you are very unhappy in your job, strat looking for a new one in an area that you’re interested in. If you can’t make a big change right now because of responsibilities or commitments, that’s fine, just take some baby steps towards change.
