Planning On Staying In An Ecolodge This Summer?
On a rainy day like this you can't help but think of the beach...
With Summer finally here have any of you made any plans? Regardless of if you've decided to take a break abroad or in the UK reduce you're environmental footprint by staying in an Eco lodge.
Ecolodges are designed with a commitment to conserve the social and environmental integrity of their surrounding environment whilst encouraging guests to reconnect with nature. Figures by the Environmental Protection Agency estimate that a one night stay in an average hotel is responsible for approximately 16.8kg of CO2, with the figure being as high as 33.38kg of CO2 in an upscale hotel! In comparison to ecolodges which typically run on renewable energy sources.
Before all that CO2 weighs too heavily on your conscience you still have the chance to check out ecolodges in some of your favourite destinations! And before you let their association with higher costs dishearten you, the Guardian newspaper has come to our rescue and provided a run down of the most purse friendly ecolodges in Costa Rica.
So what better excuse is there to get away this summer than this?! 😉
